Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator

Parent Involvement Main Page Image

Welcome to Woodstation!

My name is Jayne Black and I am the WES Title l Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator. My primary role is to support parents and provide information on how you can be fully engaged in your child's education. I encourage you to visit our Family Resource Center (Room 120) to learn about the many ways you can be involved and how to fully participate in your child's education. There are community, parenting, and educational resources available for you to take home to help your family succeed both in and out of the classroom. I'm committed to making sure all parents have the resources necessary to feel confident communicating with teachers and staff at school. I'm looking forward to an exciting and successful year!

How to Help My Middle School Child with Math Homework (April 17, 5:45-7:00 p.m.)

This workshop is being presented at WES by our partner, Communities In Schools. It is for anyone who will be helping a rising 6th grader study math. The workshop will cover how to create a working environment for studying, the teachers approach to teaching math, techniques to studying and staying organized, and suggested websites for self-help when studying math. This workshop was developed by Konnie McKown, math teacher at Lakeview Middle School and John Lee, Youth Development Coordinator with Communities In Schools and is based off the book How to Study Math: 80 Ways to Make the Grade.
