Welcome to Woodstation!
My name is Jayne Black and I am the WES Title l Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator. My primary role is to support parents and provide information on how you can be fully engaged in your child's education. I encourage you to visit our Family Resource Center (Room 120) to learn about the many ways you can be involved and how to fully participate in your child's education. There are also community, parenting, and educational resources available for you to take home to help your family succeed both in and out of the classroom. I'm committed to making sure all parents have the resources necessary to feel confident communicating with teachers and staff at school. I'm looking forward to an exciting and successful year!

A frosty fun adventure is in store for your family at Family Science Night! Learn more about how easy it is to do science at home with your child. We'll show you how to make snow together, make exploding snowballs, study constellations, have fun with magnets and much more! Look for more information and an RSVP form in your child's Wednesday folder.
Family Reading Night - February 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Join us for a fun camping adventure at Family Reading Night. We will have a story teller from the Catoosa County Library reading to the students about love and friendship. Children can wear their pajamas, do a fun literacy craft, check out books from our Media Center, and read together with their family in camping tents. We'll close the evening with a snack of hot chocolate and cookies. Information will be available for how to help your child with reading and how to encourage good reading habits at home. Information about the Catoosa County Library will also be available. Hope to see you there!
Parent-Teacher Conference Week February 27-March 3
Extended hours February 28, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
At WES, we believe the secret to your child’s success comes from building a strong partnership between home and school. To help foster this partnership, we will be hosting another Parent-Teacher Conference Week. This conference time will give you the opportunity to talk one-on-one with your child’s teacher and make a plan for the second half of the school year. A sign-up sheet will be coming home soon in your child’s Wednesday folder. Please sign-up! This is a great way to stay connected to how your child is doing in the classroom.
Make the most of your Parent-teacher conference by writing down your questions in advance. Here are some things to think about:
- “What are the most important things my child should master this year?”
- “What subject do you think my child enjoys the most?”
- “What are my child’s strengths and weaknesses in the classroom?”
- “What can we be doing at home to help her do her best at school?”
