Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator

Parent Involvement Main Page Image

Welcome to Woodstation!

My name is Jayne Black and I am the WES Title l Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator. My primary role is to support parents and provide information on how you can be fully engaged in your child's education. I encourage you to visit our Family Resource Center (Room 120) to learn about the many ways you can be involved and how to fully participate in your child's education. There are community, parenting, and educational resources available for you to take home to help your family succeed both in and out of the classroom. I'm committed to making sure all parents have the resources necessary to feel confident communicating with teachers and staff at school. I'm looking forward to an exciting and successful year!

Don't forget to stop by the Title l Table for helpful parent information and a special treat!

Fall Parent Survey and Parent Input for Compacts - August 30

Please look for the parent survey coming home in your child's Wednesday folder on August 30. This is an opportunity for parents to give us feedback and help shape our Parent and Family Engagment Program. Your input will be used to plan activities that help meet the needs of our families. Please take a few minutes to fill this out and return it to school. Attached to the survey you will also find a sheet asking for your input for our Family-School Compact this year. This is one of the ways we use to strengthen our home-school partnership. The students have given us their ideas for what they can do to be successful and the teachers have committed as grade levels to strategies they will use to help your child meet goals this year. Now it's your turn to tell us what you will do at home to help your child be successful. Please return the compact input sheet along with the fall survey to school. We will have our Family-School Compact drafts in the Family Resource Center for you to review and evaluate September 4-12. We will vote to approve the compacts at our Fall PAC Meeting on September 13 at 9:30 a.m. Compacts will be distributed at Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 3.
